NAVCP Reflects on 2005 Successes
As It Begins 4th Year

Last year proved a formative year for the National Association of Vision Care Plans (NAVCP) as it continued to serve as the voice of the managed vision care industry. In its fourth year, the NAVCP is dedicated to advocating and leading industry quality and efficiency, and promoting the importance of vision care health and wellness.

"The NAVCP continued to gain recognition as the voice of the managed vision care industry in 2005," said Steve Ingram, the organization's executive director. "Our membership companies continued to grow, but most importantly, our members looked to the NAVCP to provide them with tools and resources to assist in making business decisions."

NAVCP's 2005 accomplishments included:

• Releasing an online, searchable database for both state and federal legislative and regulatory activities, including issuing monthly legislative tracking reports to member companies
• Building relationships with the Vision Council of America and participating in the Total Ophthalmic Community conference
• Increasing the number of member companies to 31 by the end of 2005, nearly a 30 percent increase from 2004
• Hosting the Second Annual NAVCP Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona in April 2005 with 75 attendees, a 50 percent increase from the first conference in 2004

"As attendance at the annual NAVCP conferences continues to grow, so do the opportunities to hear industry leaders speak to topics important to the managed vision care industry," added Ingram.

The 2006 NAVCP conference is scheduled for April 20-21, 2006 at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
